“Take the Streets With You” Came and Went!

December 7, 2007 · 2 Comments

Our class exhibit “Take the Streets With You” opened and closed on Thursday, December 6. Set up to resemble a cityscape, dozens of boxes were assembled, decorated and disassembled. Viewers became part of the exhibit as they added their own tags, markings, pictures and embellishments to the facade of blank boxes. Inside the Betty Rymer Gallery artists submitted works of customized and sculptural boxes were displayed against a swirl of architectural plans and blueprints (rescued from a dumpster at the Carson Pirie Scott renovation project). At the end of the exhibit passers-by were invited to take the art work home and many did!
